Product Lifecycle Management
B2B Analysts tracks the major innovative technologies in the enterprise
software space. Having started as CAD, Product Lifecycle Management,
or PLM, focuses on how companies design products, and the beginning
phases of how they source materials for their new products.
We consider PLM to be synonymous with Collaborative Design, which
is one portion of the Supplier Relationship
Management, or SRM, process. In the first half of 2002, we will
be issuing three research reports on the SRM space. The first will
be called Strategic Sourcing, the second Collaborative Design, and
the third will be Procurement. The reports will contain assessments
of applications from approximately 50 different companies, large
and small.
In addition to these reports, each time we meet with a software
vendor, we publish an assessment.
Recent SRM assessments include:
- September 5, 2001
- Creating and Updating Complex
BOMs. Agile Software.
