...said "xxx of B2B Analysts"
We've always been somewhat bemused by the importance attached to
being quoted in the press. Having been a member of that illustrious
corps from time to time, we know what deadline pressure is, and
we know how much deadly and self-important dreck you have to listen
through before you can find something, anything that the person
said or wished he/she said that's worth quoting.
Anyway, our sympathies to the people on the receiving end of our
maundering. Here is a sampling of things that some talented reporters
have been able to get out of us.
By the way, we do have a deal with reporters. One, we're happy
to provide background. Two, we never, ever call and say we were
misquoted. Three, we return phone calls.
